What are Orthotics?
Orthotics are prescription manufactured insoles for footwear. They are designed, manufactured and implemented to improve, support or correct an individual’s foot position. They may alleviate or prevent foot, leg, knee, hip or back pain. A comprehensive biomechanical assessment is undertaken prior to their supply. Orthotics are often implemented to improve performance or prevent injury for athletes.
Foot Focus has the ability to design an orthotic that specifically meets the needs for cushioning, support, performance enhancement or injury prevention. A negative cast or plantar foot impression is required before orthotics are fabricated. Foot Focus utilises plaster impression foam, plaster casts, foot profiling, pressure analysis or 3D optical foot scanning.
