What does biomechanics mean?
Biomechanics is the study of human movement governed by the physical world in which we live.

The Podiatrists at Foot Focus are experts in studying the relationship between the biomechanics of the foot and lower limb and the incidence of pain and pathology. The study of foot biomechanics has established a direct link between abnormal foot function/movement and problems developing throughout the entire musculoskeletal system.

A Biomechanical assessment will include taking a full history, physical examination, postural examination, checking joint range of motion and muscle function, as well as a complete gait analysis.

The gait cycle begins when one foot makes contact with the ground and ends when that same foot makes contact with the ground again, in effect it is the way we walk and run. The podiatrists at Foot Focus combine over twenty years of experience plus cutting edge technology to analyse your gait pattern and develop treatment protocols aimed at improving your gait and preventing injury.
